No More Stinky Mildew Towels

Every once in a while, I forget that I have laundry on the go and it ends up sitting for a day or two before it goes from the washer to the dryer. I know you understand what I’m talking about, I think everybody has been in that situation before!

It doesn’t matter if you leave your towels in overnight or if you leave them in for a few days, you will end up with a mildew smell that just go away until they are washed again. That is, of course, until you try this trick that will remove the mildew smell once and for all!

What You Need:

1 cup of white vinegar
1/2 cup of baking soda
Hot water

What You Do:

Put the smelly towels into your washing machine and fill with hot water. The best way to do this may even be to boil some water on the stove, the pour it directly into the load.

Then, add one cup of vinegar to the load and run the towels through a normal wash cycle. After that cycle finishes, leave the towels in there and refill again with more boiling water and 1/2 cup of baking soda. Run through a second cycle.

Lastly, dry your towels thoroughly, whether in the dryer or on a clothesline.
