Backyard Shed Gets a Much-Needed Makeover

As a homeowner, I can tell you that it is difficult for things not to get away from you. At first, you may be able to keep up with everything but before you know it, the projects pile up and you need to consider priorities.

Apparently, this homeowner also had a similar issue because the shed in the backyard was in need of repair. That is when this DIY-er and his father decided to do something awesome with it, and they turned it into a backyard oasis.

You will be amazed with with what they were able to accomplish. Their yard looks incredible, and the shed is no longer an eyesore. Check out the pictures below.

This DIY-er and his dad decided to give the shed an upgrade. The stucco was outdated and the structure looked like it was about ready to fall down.

2

They started smashing way on the existing siding. It took a few days of work with a prybar and hammer and it made an awful mess.

3

They then decided to put a pergola between the shed and the Koi pond. That would make for a nice seating area.

4

After cutting back the plywood overhang, they began to add the pergola.

5

They picked up some cedar two by fours and began building the structure. This went fairly quickly.

6

They then put a railing on the far side of the deck

7

An old window frame from a friends house made an awesome addition to the shed. It allowed for natural light.

8

They took a picture of the siding on their house so they could match it with the shed. They used siding stain to give it a dark, rich tone.

9

They then stapled up house wrap over the plywood before adding the siding.

10

Once it got started, this part was fairly easy. The siding was tacked in place with a screw on each end.

11

They had some extra siding left over and made a box to cover the waterfall filter with it.

The results are awesome!
