The Easy Way To Master The Jasmine Stitch

If you enjoy crocheting, you already recognize how much there is to the craft. You have single, double, half double and triple crochets and they are perfect when you are doing a simple pattern for hats or baby blankets. There are also more complex stitches, but many people tend to limit themselves because they feel they are too difficult to master.

When you learn different crochet stitches, it allows you to make different patterns and at times, you can even come up with your own. Some of those stitches may be simple but others look quite complex, especially for someone who is just starting out. The jasmine stitch, for example, is one that looks complex but you can master it easily.

The jasmine stitch is also known as the star stitch, and in order to get the stitch complete, you need to join two rows together. Each star is created by joining puffs together and the video below shows you how to do the star stitch. Each puff is made up of 3 one-inch loops on the hook. Two sets of three puff stitches make a full star.

It might come as a surprise to you that the jasmine stitch is considered to be a beginner stitch. It is good to practice it, because practice allows you to keep everything even as you are moving through the project. It is always best to do a few dry runs before you jump right into it.

This is a tightly packed stitch and it is not likely that it will sag. It is perfect for making anything from purses to coats and even blankets or pillowcases. Anything that you could do with a regular stitch can be done with the jasmine stitch.
