3 C-Section Truths That Every Mum Should Hear

Most mothers don’t need anyone to tell you that your position in life can be rather difficult. Not only does motherhood come with a lot of responsibilities, it also requires a lot of effort on your part. Fortunately, it also comes with the lot of rewards as well. It doesn’t start after the child is born, the difficulties and rewards actually began long before the delivery.

One of the ways in which some mothers are able to show what they went through during the pregnancy and childbirth is by the “mark of happiness” that is found through their C-section scar. Many women don’t try to hide the scar but rather, they wear it proudly because it really says something about them and about their abilities.

If you have to go through a cesarean section, there is no doubt that it takes a lot of strength and courage must go along with it as well. It is only a woman and a mother who is able to handle going through such an ordeal and they often do it in the most honourable way possible. The following are 3 truths that women who have gone through cesarean sections understand.

1. They face the consequences of surgery with bravery

Although it may be true that a C-section is considered to be a common procedure, it is also considered a major surgery as well. Cesarean sections not only carry a risk for the mother, they carry a risk for the child.

At times, it may be quite difficult for the father or other family member to be present with you in the operating room while the operation is taking place. Women who have a cesarean section may find themselves alone without the support that they looked forward to for so long.

It is a type of battle that these brave women fight with fear and loneliness but they come through it on the merits of their own strength.

2. It is unclear if everything is fine until they leave the operating room

The birth of a child does not end the risk that is associated with a C-section. It is necessary for the anesthesia to wear off until the doctors were able to determine if everything was successful.

During the time that a C-section is taking place, the mother doesn’t feel any pain but she does feel the movement and pressure of what is taking place. She is conscious through the entire procedure. The unusual sensations that she does feel can be traumatic but women are able to pass through this difficulty with strength as well.

3. They show their strength during the post operation recovery

There may be a lot of pain that is associated with the operation after it is over. During this time, the mother is also dealing with the new emotions and with the added responsibilities that may come right away.

Rather than affecting them negatively, it works to make them stronger.

It doesn’t matter how hard it is, the mother is able to go through it with a smile because through it all, they have a wonderful new life by their side. There is nothing like that newborn child to make them forget everything that they have gone through.

We are thankful that there are so many brave women who have not only gone through a cesarean, they wear the scar with pride.
