Kids are so amazing, and a lot of the time that is due to their
spontaneity and not being able to hold back their feelings or
responses.
However whilst this is an endearing trait if you are trying to
have a sensible or important conversation with a doctor or a
teacher, for instance, then the constant interruption, can be very
distracting and sometimes quite embarrassing.
I know it is very difficult for a kid to control his excitement,
but with a little practise and effort from both parties, it can be
done. And once your child has this mastered it will very quickly
become second nature.

This very simple technique will enable you to teach your child
how to inform you that they need to speak with you, without
interrupting your conversation.
All you need to tell your child is to come up beside you and
place their hand on your wrist. This then makes you aware they need
your attention, gives you time to finish your sentence at least and
then give your full attention to your child.
They will appreciate this as no doubt you will, whilst everyone
else will commend you on your children’s impeccable manners.
