We tend to spend the majority of our time in our homes, so we want it to be the healthiest environment that it could possibly be. What may or may not come as a surprise to you is that the health of our home is going to have a significant impact on our personal health and well-being. That is why it is important to do what we can to keep the air in the home as clean as possible.
Would it come as a surprise to you to learn that one of the best ways to keep the air clean inside of the home is to keep some houseplants inside? Some of the plants can remove serious chemicals from the air, including formaldehyde, benzene, trichloroethene, ammonia and xylene. These chemicals have been proven to be associated with serious health consequences, including eye irritation, headaches and dizziness.
There have been multiple studies that show the benefits of having houseplants. In fact, even NASA recommends that you have at least one plant for every 100 square feet of living space. It is a space-age solution for an age-old problem and it is one that you can implement easily.
