Although there are many different forms of cancer, very few of them get the press time that breast cancer receives. Not only do we see pink ribbons on the back of automobiles and elsewhere, we even see red hearts that circulate on Facebook to help promote awareness of breast cancer. One woman decided to take it a step further and help women to fight breast cancer in a different way.
She said that at one time, a picture had been posted on Facebook of what cancer looked like. It wasn’t what it felt like but rather, what it looked like. When she saw that picture, she knew that she had breast cancer instantly. She took the picture and posted it on Facebook. It showed different lemons that represented breast cancer symptoms. These could include dimpling, invisible lumps, indentations and other symptoms. She realised that the world needs more than cute hearts, they need real information.
