I Thought It Was Odd When I Saw The Clothespin On Her Air Vent Until I Learned Why

If there is one thing I’ve learned about cars, it’s the fact that they tend to get smelly. It doesn’t matter if it is from the kid’s sports gear or just from stale air, nobody wants to have to smell it regularly.

In order to overcome the problem, most people will opt for a store bought air freshener. Although they may mask the stench of our car, they also can be quite harmful to your health. After all, they contain a lot of chemicals, none of which are “good for you.”

Fortunately, there is a solution to help you, and it is as easy as using a clothespin.

1

First, you will need some old-style clothespins. They have to be wood or it won’t work. Put a few drops of your favorite essential oil onto the clothespin and it will soak into the wood.

You can then attach the clothespin to the air vent and the scent will be slowly released throughout the vehicle while the air system is running.

Strong Smells in the Kitchen

Something else you can do to help remove unwanted smells is to line the trash can with old newspapers. They will help to absorb the smells in the garbage. This works great in the kitchen as well.

Vanilla is a great tool for making your house smell fresh. Bake 2 teaspoons in the oven for an hour at 350 degrees.

Sometimes, the garbage disposal is the source of the offensive smell in the kitchen. If that is the case, drop some lemon slices in the disposal and grind them away.

Some people even freeze pieces of lemon in vinegar using an ice cube tray for that purpose. When it is time to freshen up the garbage disposal, just toss in a cube and grind it until it is gone.

Putting small plates of coffee beans out in the home can also help to keep things fresh.
