There is nothing quite like taking the family on a camping trip.
It’s nice to get away from it all and to reconnect with nature from
time to time but perhaps my favorite part about a camping trip is
the campfire.
Some of my fondest memories from my childhood involve being with
my family around the campfire and I want my children have those
memories as well.
It is one thing to want something but another thing to make it
happen, and Joshua Rhodes decided he was going to make it happen.
He built a fire ring area in his backyard that was perfect for his
family. The best thing is, it was cheap and easy to do.
After seeing benches retailing for $2000, he decided to build it
himself. It only cost $125 and a trip to Home Depot.

He took plenty of time to design it, because he wanted the frame
perfect.

Joshua even built supports for the bench, as it would be sitting
on an uneven lawn.

Seat panels were screwed onto the frame

It’s starting to take shape already!

He put together a seatback for the bench

Totally perfect for relaxing

Slats go on the back of the seat

This is the perfect area for family fun in the summer.

A little paint brightened things up

Add some removable pillows for a splash of color and comfort

It only took 2 days to make but the project is fun, functional
and perfect for family togetherness.
