DIY Project For Coffee Canisters

I tend to split DIY projects into one of two different categories. You have projects from things that you find (or have been thrown away) and projects from things that you buy. By and large, my favorite projects are when I am able to recycle something rather than throwing it away.

At times, some of the most amazing projects may come from the most unlikely source. If you look in your trash and see some empty Folgers or Maxwell House canisters, don’t let them go to the curb, you can use them to create something fun. In fact, the only thing that you will need to do this DIY project, other than the coffee canisters, is an empty creamer bottle, instant coffee container, caulk and solar powered lights.

1

Gather all of your supplies together and cut the bottoms off of the containers. You also need to add some holes to the front. Using spray paint, cover the inside of the creamer bottle in bright yellow. Paint the outside dark brown.

2

Now is when the fun begins. Grab a paintbrush and begin decorating! As you can tell from the picture, we are creating some rather interesting tribal faces, so let your imagination run wild. After you paint the faces, grab a tube of caulking to attach the canisters together and form a tower.

Finally, put a solar light inside of your new tiki tower. They look great during the day but at night, they look awesome!
