Fix Saggy Jeans Easily at Home

I’m sure that many people agree, there is nothing quite as comfortable as a nice pair of blue jeans. Unfortunately, blue jeans also come with one particular issue that many women (and some men) have been fighting with for years. The solution to this single problem may be as easy as turning your pants inside out!

It is almost impossible to find a pair of jeans that fit you just right in every area. Repairing the jeans and altering them, however, is somewhat intimidating. That is especially true if you are not an experienced seamstress.

After reading this article, you will recognize that there is an extremely easy way to take in jeans at home. It doesn’t matter where they are giving you trouble, this solution is going to fix it! That’s right, regardless of whether they are too big at the waist, too baggy in the butt or too saggy around the thighs, this solution has you covered.

1

You might need to enlist the assistance of a friend for pinning the jeans but other than that, it is so simple you will wonder why you never thought of doing it before.

Here is a typical pair of jeans before they are altered. As you can see, they fit fine but they are not very flattering for her shape.

Here is the same pair of jeans after they have been turned inside out. This is where the work begins.

The first step is to pin both of the outer seams of the pants legs. Start at the hip and work your way down from there. Make sure you take enough of the fabric so that the natural curves are followed.

You will notice an instantaneous difference in both the look and the fit once the pins are in place. If you look at this picture, you will see that the right side is pinned but the left side is not. On the right side, the loose fit is gone and the saggy butt is no longer an issue!

5

Be careful when removing your jeans so that the pins don’t poke you. Stitch along the newly pinned line down the pants leg. It is easier to use a sewing machine but it is also possible to do it by hand.

Look at the difference after the alteration is complete!

6

Not only do the jeans have a more slender shape, they fit the curves in all the right places. In addition, the pants fit properly so you don’t need to pull them up all day long.

One other issue that can easily be corrected is the gap that may exist between your lower back and the waistband. For this alteration, turn the jeans inside out and add two “butt darts” to help the jeans hug your waist.

Wasn’t that easy?
