Plant A Tangerine Tree In A Flowerpot And You Will Have Loads Of Delicious Fruit

There is nothing quite like a good tangerine. Between the sweet taste and the amazing aroma, it is one of the most popular and the most delicious citrus fruits in existence. Many of us absolutely love the taste of tangerines and can’t get enough of them, especially when they are in season.

Tangerines certainly are tasty but there are also many health benefits to eating them as well. Not only can they help to fight inflammation and boost the immune system, they are good for the lungs and many other parts of the body. Even though that is the case, many people are unfamiliar with the fact that tangerines can be grown at home.

All you really need is a flowerpot or a spot in your garden, and you will have all of the tangerines you could possibly ever enjoy.

How to Prepare

If you are going to grow the tangerines in a flowerpot, choose a medium sized pot with holes on the bottom to provide drainage. Small stone should be placed on the bottom and organic soil can be used for superior drainage. Some sand on the ground underneath also helps to provide ventilation.

Sow the tangerine seeds in the soil, cover them but don’t press them firmly into the soil. Put the flowerpot in a sunny area and prepare for the magic to happen.

Caring for Your Tangerines

Fertilizer should periodically be added to the soil. Choose one that is high in magnesium, zinc and iron.

Check the soil for moisture and when the soil is dry to an inch deep, it is time to water the tangerines. Cut the broken or withered branches as they appear.

Be cautious when gathering the fruit so that you don’t cause any damage to the tree.

That’s all there is to it! Tangerines are easy to grow and they are easy to eat.
