According to researchers at the University Hospital of Saint-Etienne, the University Hospital of Dijon, the University of Lyon, the Regional Center for Cancer Prevention and Jean Monnet University in France, walking is one of the most effective forms of exercise. In fact, there was eve a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine involving participants aged 60 and older.
Those participants had to exercise daily for 15 minutes. In doing so, they lowered their risk of death by 22% when compared to a group who did no exercise.
These results were picked up by the media and the word spread quickly. Because of those benefits, doctors say you should do at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly.
