When we are having a problem with pain, we might automatically reach for the medicine cabinet. It seems to easy to just grab an ibuprofen pill and swallow it, but it might not be the best choice available. That being said, it was the treatment that many of us chose for backaches, headaches and any other type of pain.
Although it is true that ibuprofen can dull the pain quickly, it is not going to provide a long lasting treatment for the pain we are experiencing. In fact, if you were to take too many of the pills, you could end up with a host of side effects. Those problems could include nausea, diarrhea, erectile dysfunction, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney damage and an increased risk of heart attack. Fortunately, we are not left without options.
Drugs, such as ibuprofen and other NSAIDs have an effect on the Cyclooxygenase 2 enzyme and it could lead to additional inflammation. Turmeric, on the other hand, acts mildly in the body but still produces results.
One of the reasons why turmeric works so well is because of curcumin, a compound that can be found inside of the herb. When you brew it into a tea, it is one of the healthiest options that is left over from ancient medical practices. It does wonders at reducing pain and inflammation.
You should not use turmeric tea if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Turmeric work to heal aching muscles and joints while, at the same time, relaxing the body. The recipe we are providing below allows you to prepare your own turmeric tea at home. You can also add additional ingredients, such a ginger, to gain added effects.
