There are many items that we may have around the house and we use them on a daily basis. This includes our dish soap, but it is possible to use it for more than washing dishes.

Of course, using Dawn dishwashing soap is a perfect way to get our dishes clean but did you realize that it was capable of doing much more around the home? There are so many different ways to use this it, but let’s take a look at six unknown uses of Dawn dish soap.

1. Icepack: Pour Dawn soap in a Ziploc bag and get as much air out of the bag as possible. Put it in the freezer and before you know it, you will have a great icepack.

2. Deicer: When you have ice on the driveway, don’t use salt, use dish soap. Mix 1 cup of rubbing alcohol with 1/4 cup of dish soap in 2 cups of water. Pour it on slick spots and let the deicer go to work.

3. Grease Stains: When you have grease and oil stains on concrete, you can use Dawn to remove them. Just pour some dish soap on the stain and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Scrub it with a brush and wash it away.

4. Clean Grill Grates: Pour some Dawn dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle full of water. Spray it on your grill grates and scrub away the dirt.

5. Squeaky Hinges: When your hinges are squeaking, pour some Dawn dishwashing liquid on a rag and wipe the hinge down. Not only will it clean the hinge, it will keep it from squeaking.

6. Cleaning Your Hands: When your hands are dirty or if they just need a routine cleaning, you can use Dawn dishwashing soap. It’s gentle enough to be used every day and it really works at getting your hands clean.
