There’s nothing quite like the look of fresh flowers on the table and if you’re accustomed to working with flowers, you recognize that each of them can have their own personality and characteristics. Some flowers tend to be rather sturdy and strong but others will wilt easily.
Having the ability to create your flower arrangements does not mean you must become an expert in the field. As a matter of fact, it only typically takes a little bit of knowledge on your part to be able to bring out the best in your floral abilities.
If you want to create truly stunning floral arrangements, it will be necessary to use flowers that naturally droop. That may mean you would want to include peonies in your arrangements. They can certainly add a lot of beauty, but they tend to want to move around in the vase far too much and end up falling over the edge. Most people end up with something that looks more like a disaster than a thing of beauty.
Fortunately, it is possible to tame peonies and you can do so with a most unexpected solution, tape!
To care for this project, you will need some flora tape, a vase and peonies. If you don’t have any flora tape, you can use transparent scotch tape.
To get started with this project, you will need to dry the rim of the jar with a paper towel so that the tape sticks properly. You then apply the tape so that it forms a grid over top of the opening of the vase. The tape itself should carry over the edge of the vase approximately 1/4 inch.
The ends of the peonies should be trimmed at an angle to allow them to absorb more water. Place a single stem through each of the holes. Place the fuller flowers near the perimeter to make the arrangement more robust.
Amazing! Your peonies are now standing up properly.
