2 Ingredients to Clean Your Washing Machine

We use our washing machine to keep our clothes clean and then they are kept close to our skin all day. It might come as a surprise to you, however, that the washing machine may be one of the dirtiest places in the home when you look under the surface. That no longer needs to be the case, because these 2 ingredients can clean your clothes washer like new!

One of the frustrating problems that can happen when you first notice that your clothes washer is not clean is that it starts to smell like mildew and mold. This is no coincidence, because the mold is actually accumulating inside of the machine!

Of course, you always have the option to tear the entire machine apart but nobody wants to take the time to do that! All that it is really necessary is to clean it using these 2 simple ingredients and before you know it, your machine will look like new again and be clean as a whistle.

1

The ingredients that you need are Clorox and THEN 16 ounces of vinegar. It is important that you don’t use these two ingredients together because it will create a poisonous gas. What you will do is to mix the Clorox with an equal amount of warm water to wipe down every accessible area inside of the washer. Make sure you pull the rubber gasket and clean under it.

When you get to any hard to reach areas, soak a towel in the Clorox solution and leave the towel lay on the area for approximately 30 minutes. Doing so will allow the liquid in the towel to react with the mold or mildew.

2

After you scrub the machine with Clorox and water, run it on the hottest cycle. Do not run clothes in the wash while cleaning it. After the first cycle has run through, run a second cycle and add the 16 ounces of vinegar.

3

Make sure that the machine continues to run at the highest temperature, even through the second cycle. When finished, your machine should be as good as new! Continue to use this method as needed.
