If you were to line up 100 people and ask them where they would use Windex, most if not all of them would say on windows. Although it certainly is a great product for keeping the glass in your home clean and sparkling, it seems that there are other uses for it as well.
After you read this article and see the pictures, you will also be using Windex to clean your carpet. Although it is not a common practice, it is one that works amazingly well, provided you follow a few simple steps.
First of all, you need to gather the necessary supplies. To clean a carpet stain, you will need a bottle of Windex, an iron and a towel. Make sure you use an old towel that you don’t mind ruining. The stain from the carpet will end up on the towel eventually.
This method is so powerful at cleaning carpet, it can even remove a Kool-Aid stain. As any parent can tell you, Kool-Aid stains are the ultimate mark when it comes to carpet stains. Since it can get the worst, it can also remove all other stains, easy as pie.
Spray the Windex directly on the stain. Some people will tell you not to use blue Windex, but as you can see, it worked just fine.
Place the towel on top of the stain, which has now been soaked with Windex. Finally, heat the iron and press it against the towel that is over the stain.
If you are impatient, you can give it a quick check to see how it is working. As you can see, it is already starting to move the stain from the carpeting to the towel.
To remove even more of the stain, repeat the procedure by spraying the carpet and placing the iron over the towel again.
Like this experiment, you may find that the second round is even more effective than the first!
By the time you are finished, the stain should be long gone.
Now that you are confident in what this method can do, it’s time to wipe out the other stains in your home.
