There are plenty of things around the house that tend to get outdated quickly. This is totally true of small knickknacks but also of larger items, even furniture. One of the items that quickly gets outdated is the entertainment center. Perhaps we purchase a larger TV or our choice of style may change but in either case, what do you do with the old entertainment center?
Entertainment centers are not only something that we change out from time to time, there are plenty of other people who do so as well. That is why it is not unusual to find an entertainment center for a very low price at a flea market or yard sale. You can even find plenty of them on Craigslist.
So why would you buy somebody else’s old entertainment center? Because it can be a base for an awesome DIY project! If you have a young daughter, you can turn an old entertainment center into a wardrobe. You will be amazed with how awesome it looks.
Clean the old entertainment center until it is free of dust and dirt
Take off the back panel and remove all shelves and drawers. Remove any hardware that is left over.
Now would be the easiest time to paint the piece. Apply a few coats of paint and, while it is drying, you could start with the other updates.
The back panel likely had holes for running cables. You can use giftwrap to cover the panel and give it a new look.
After the paint has dried, put everything back together. Add a tension rod to the inside of the open cabinet to hang clothing.
This is an absolutely adorable wardrobe. You can use the drawers for clothes you don’t intend to hang
You will find more shelves behind the door.
