As summer come onto the scene, we begin to turn our attention to the outdoors and the beauty that is possible. For some of us, we will be growing a vegetable garden but for others, there is nothing quite like growing flowers. Not only are they beautiful to look at, the smell can be absolutely heavenly!
At some time or another, you will want to do something interesting with your flowers and this DIY project provides exactly what you need. It only takes a few old tree stumps, a little bit of elbow grease and some creativity to create something beautiful for your garden.
It starts with a simple tree stump that needs removed or a log that is laying around. When you have it, you have the material necessary for this project.
It’s a simple idea but the results are amazing!
You will need to hollow out the log or stump. This can either be along the length or down the middle. After it is hollowed out, fill it with potting soil and plant your plants. That’s all there is to it!
You can also seal the parts of the planter that will get wet because it is holding water. This will help to keep away any rotting.
These gorgeous planters can either be used outdoors or indoors. If you leave them outside, they will take on a rustic, beautiful look.
You can still use your traditional pots, but use them along with these classic planters. You will not believe how great they work together.
You can choose any type of greenery. These log planters work in almost any condition.
Once the flowers are planted, they will look quite at home.
You might also try to beef up the design and create something unique.
And if the tree is still growing, just hollow out a space without damaging the tree too much and the beauty is stunning.
