Use a saw to remove 4 of the drawer openings. This will create your place to sit. Of course, you may need to modify the number of drawers that you remove, depending upon how many are in your dresser.
By adding some extra wood and reinforcing the new “bench” section of the dresser, you have an excellent piece of furniture that gives you a place to sit and plenty of storage. It is perfect for putting on or taking off your shoes at the doorway.
A little bit of paint and a lot of decorating later and you have an awesome piece of furniture.
Most people will find that this piece is perfect for right inside the front door. You can also use it any place in the home where you might like a little bench to sit every once in a while. Adding some interesting pieces to the shelves helps to make it a well decorated item. Other shelves, particularly those that are out-of-the-way might be perfect for keeping your keys or your shoes.
