New Study Discovers A Glass Of Red Wine Is The Same As Spending An Hour At The Gym

Science has always amazed me and some of the studies that are performed are not only interesting, they can be quite beneficial. That is why I was quite interested in the research conducted by the University of Alberta in Canada on the health benefits of resveratrol.

Resveratrol is a compound found in red wine and the benefits to our health are similar to what we get from exercise. According to the study, resveratrol improved physical performance in humans. This not only included our heart function, it also included our muscle strength. The most amazing part was that resveratrol worked on the body in the same way as an exercise session at the gym!

Jason Dyck, the lead researcher on the project, said that this was of particular good news to those who were unable to exercise. The benefits of red wine are well documented and are found in more than this single study from the University of Alberta.

In fact, studies have shown that individuals who drink a glass of red wine daily are less likely to develop cancer and dementia. Red wine is also good for your heart, helps to regulate blood sugar levels and has antiaging properties.

I don’t know about you, but I think this is splendid news.
