There are many times that we have items laying around the house and we don’t give them a second thought. In fact, we may even look at them as being clutter! In reality, those items may be used in some rather fantastic ways, if we just use our imagination and this project is a perfect example.
Perhaps we have some old wire baskets in our garage or basement. Typically, these started out as a project to have beautiful hanging plants but somewhere along the lines, it fell along the wayside. Rather than tossing those baskets to the curb, you can use them to create a wonderful light globe.
For this project, you will need 2 wire hanging baskets, some wire to attach them together and a run of LED Christmas lights (the type that don’t get hot).
Remove any chains from the baskets and place them together to form a sphere. Secure them together with wire (or zip ties). Be sure they are tightly fastened so they stay together.
You can spray paint the baskets to match your home. It would also look great to leave them unfinished, as it give it a rustic look.
Now that the sphere is ready (and dry if you painted it), wrap it with christmas lights. You can use white, multi-color or any color scheme you like.
These would be perfect for the holidays or even for a backyard BBQ party.
They would even be awesome clustered together in the daytime.
