I’ve seen a lot of interesting uses of pallets before, but I think this is one of the best ideas yet. This particular DIY project makes use of some pallets but once you see what it turns out to be in the end, you will rush to try it yourself.
In this project, we are not turning pallets into an outdoor garden or table, we are making a comfortable home theater seating arrangement that is perfect for the home. When completed, it will accommodate up to 10 family members with perhaps one of the most comfortable seating arrangements of all time.
The first step is to stack two rows of pallets side-by-side. This is going to form a type of staircase. Each of the pallets is higher than the one before it.
For this particular project, 12 pallets were used. 2 in the first row, 4 in the second row and 6 in the third row.
Nail the pallets together and add the extra support necessary to ensure that it will hold the weight of people.
These pallets were stained black to give them a new look. After they were dry, they were moved into the area of the home that was to become the theater room.
Any extra room in the home could easily be made into a theater room. You can use a bonus room, an extra bedroom or perhaps even the garage.
After the pallets were stained and in place, it was time to add some cushions. Each step held an entire mattress.
The mattresses could be an expensive part of the project but you may be able to find some used mattresses in great condition.
After the mattresses were in place, add some sheets and pillows to create the look you want.
Fitted sheets were thrown on top of the mattresses, so they are easy to remove and clean. The pillows piled up gave the ability to lounge. The project is now complete and ready for the first movie.
