How to Age Wood Quickly with Apple Cider Vinegar

Many of us that enjoy doing DIY projects around the home find that we are using a wide variety of wood for those projects. At times, we may just be able to go to our local hardware store and pick up the wood that we need but at other times, it may call for something more specific.

If you are doing a DIY project that calls for aged wood, what can you do if you don’t happen to have any available? You can spend an arm of the leg to purchase it and wait until it comes in or you can use this brilliant solution that will give you the appearance of aged wood quickly and easily. This is a good one to keep in mind, because you never know when you will need it.

Stop by the store to purchase a gallon of apple cider vinegar and a package of steel wool. Fill an old tub with vinegar and then soak the steel wool pads in it.

Some people will recommend that you soak the steel wool overnight but it may not be necessary to do so. You can sometimes get awesome results by only soaking it for an hour or so.

Although you are using all-natural products with Apple cider vinegar, you may want to wear gloves so that your hands don’t get smelly.

After running the solution over the board, allow it to dry for a few hours and it should take on an aged look. So if you think you are out of luck because you don’t have any old wood laying around, think again!
