More than likely, your city or town has a particular day when larger pieces can be taken to the curb and hauled away as garbage. In some communities, it takes place weekly but for others, it is a once a year event.
For the creative person who made this project, there were some drawers that could have been thrown to the curb but she decided to do something amazing with them instead. When you see the end result on her front porch, you will not believe that they almost ended up in the garbage heap!
The first thing she did was to grab the drawers and look for some spindles.
She used the spindles to create legs and the base so that the drawer would have some place to rest.
There were two drawers available, so she created two bases. She decided that they would be different heights to add variation.
She then set the drawers on top to ensure that the sizes matched up. The project is now starting to take form.
To make the planters even more versatile, she created 2 additional shelves to add to the lower half of each planter.
After that was completed, she painted the whole thing a fun shade of green.
The paint dried and then she flipped it back over and they look absolutely adorable.
She drilled 3 holes in the bottom of the drawers to allow drainage to occur.
At that point, she added the soil and planted some flowers.
