What You Need:
-Liquid dish soap
-WD-40 (Yes… WD-40)
-Baking soda
-Old toothbrush
-Cardboard scrap
-Q-tips

How to Do It:

1. Locate the nasty oil stain and put a piece of cardboard underneath it. Make sure you put the cardboard inside of the shirt so you don’t affect the opposite side! Spray the stain area with some WD-40 and use a Q-tip to rub it in. Make sure you work the entire stain.

2. After you work the WD-40 into the area, cover it with baking soda. Make sure that you cover the wet area completely and use a little extra, because you want enough to soak up the WD-40. Make it a mound of baking soda, you can’t use too much!

3. Take the old toothbrush and scrub the baking soda into the area of the stain. As you continue to scrub with the toothbrush, the baking soda should begin to clump together. That is normal and desirable.

4. The next step is to pour dishwashing detergent over the area of the baking soda. Pick up the toothbrush and start working on the area again. If the baking soda begins to form clumps on the toothbrush, wipe it off on a clean rag and continue scrubbing.

5. Remove the cardboard from inside of the shirt and throw the shirt into the washing machine. It is not a problem if you want to add additional clothes into this load, no need to waste water!

6. Take a look at the shirt and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Even if the stain is not 100% gone, it is often reduced to the point where it is barely noticeable. You can always repeat the process a second time to lighten the stain even more.
