Here Is A Brilliant Idea To Save You Money And Space For Your Children’s Toys

From the minute, you have children, money and space seem to be at a premium. We all adore our children and we would never be without them, however much they frustrate us at times, but even as babies they seem to take up a lot of space. We had to purchase a new car for instance just to go anywhere on holiday, as once you put the pram into the boot, there was virtually no space for anything else.

This is a problem for all parents and as your child’s toy supply grows, keeping everything neat and tidy, as well as safe for little hands can prove to be quite the challenge. With money being tight as well, it is essential to upcycle anything and everything you have which is exactly what Kendra from “A Proverbs 31 blog did with this amazing project of hers.

She had an old piece of furniture, that over time had lost its drawers and doors, but she knew there had to be some way she could utilise it. She decided to turn it into a toy storage system and the end result is pretty amazing.

First of all, she sanded the entire piece of furniture and then painted it a lovely chalk white colour.

Bearing in mind that this was a toy storage cupboard she wanted to add some colour to it, and create as much space as possible, so firstly she changed all the dividers, to make nine cubbies of even width.
She then added trays and storage bins for each of the cubby holes as loose items would just roll out and become untidy, something this whole process was supposed to avoid.

To add some colour to the finished item she wrapped the storage bins in green fabric, making the boxes look more homely and personable. White storage bins on their own can look rather boring after all.

On the bottom of each cubby, she also Mod Podged some fabric and burlap trim to liven up the piece against the white. Once everything was completed, the new storage system was moved indoors. Her son now happily uses it, but has managed to keep things tidy, and due to there not being any doors his safety from catching his little fingers is assured. Let us know what you think about this wonderful idea.
