DIY Wine Bottle Pendant Lamps

If you’re looking for a way to show your love of wine and light up your life at the same time, I have the perfect DIY project for you. It comes from a DIY enthusiast from Texas, who has many ideas that are not only fantastic, some of them are even epic! Although there are a lot of choices when it comes to DIY projects, we especially appreciated these wine bottle pendant lamps that were created with a little help from her father.

This is a fairly easy project, once you get started, and if you have any help that is necessary along the way. The glass pebbles that are attached to the wine bottles add some sparkle and certainly help to change the ambience of the home in a fantastic way. They are not only great indoors, they are fantastic outdoors as well and you can use them for a soft glow that will certainly set the mood.

These wine bottle pendant lamps are an excellent example of upcycling. Many people are becoming concerned about the environment, and upcycling is a way to take things beyond recycling and make them useful in your life again.

1

Gather the supplies:

Wine bottles
Light socket kits
Liquid Fusion glue
A wood dowel
Glass pebbles in any color you’d like!

2

Cut the bottom from the wine bottle. There are a number of methods for doing so, and it can easily be research it on YouTube.

3

The cut doesn’t need to be perfect to be workable. You’re going to be covering the cut with a row of stones anyway. Just make sure you sand the edge so you don’t cut yourself.

You should now begin gluing the stones on the glass. Take your time and make sure you hold each stone in place until the glue is dry.

4

Glue stones from the cut edge to the neck of a bottle. The bottle should dry for a day before moving on to the next step.

5

Pick up a light kit at your local hardware store. You can use a dimmer light to add a glow to the area or choose a brighter bulb if you really want to light up the room.

6

After removing the lid from the light socket, thread the cord into the bottle. Snap the cap back onto the socket and make sure it is working properly.

7

A small wood dowel can apply pressure against the cord and the bottleneck. You can paint the dowel to blend in with the bottle.

8

A metal twist tie can be used to create a loop at the bottom of the electric cord so you can hang the bottle.

9

Now that the electrical portion is complete, finish applying the glass stones to the neck of the bottle. Allow it to dry for another day or two.

10

It may take a few days for the project to be complete, but it is well worth it. Make sure you hang them from somewhere that can support it and will catch the eye of those in the room.
