Make These Craft Bracelets with Your Children

It can be a lot of fun to get the children involved in a DIY project. If you have young girls of the household, this is a craft that you will certainly want to try for yourself. It involves saving popsicle sticks, so it is not only fun to make the craft it is a lot of fun to prepare for it as well!

Popsicle sticks are often used for a variety of crafts, but this is one of the most ingenious options I’ve ever seen. Not only is it perfect for a summer camp, you can do it with a group of Girl Scouts, when a sleepover is at your house or any time you just want to have some fun.

To get started on the project, you will need to save up some popsicle sticks or purchase a box of popsicle sticks at the store. You can also use tongue depressors as well.

After gathering the popsicle sticks, put them in a pot of boiling water and allow them to boil gently for an hour. Be sure to watch the pot carefully so that the water doesn’t boil out. When the hour is finished, the popsicle sticks should be quite soft and malleable.

1

Remove the soft popsicle sticks carefully from the pot of water and place them on a paper towel. When they are cool enough to handle but still damp, bend them into a circular shape and put them inside of the lid of an aerosol can. Make some extra because they do tend to split when they are bent.

2

Put them out in the sun for a day or two until they are dry. Once dry, you can begin decorating them!

3

It is up to you how to decorate them, and you can be as creative as you like. Some people use names or inspirational quotes, but don’t be afraid to use your own, unique designs! Some people use double-sided tape and then seal it with Mod Podge.
