DIY Rope Pouf – Easy to Make

When it comes to home decor, you want to always stay on the cutting edge. One of the items that have been popular and continue to grow in popularity are floor poufs. Not only are they a very useful item since they serve so many purposes, they are also an excellent way to decorate the home.

The unfortunate thing about floor poufs is that they can get quite expensive, but that doesn’t need to be the case. Once you see this DIY project, you will rush to buy the materials necessary to make this awesome floor proof that is a must have for any crafter’s home.

To get started on this project, you will need to have a painters bucket, microfiber towels, 120 feet of sisal rope, cardboard, fabric, some small drawer knobs, Velcro, a glue gun, X-Acto knife, staple gun and scissors.

If you don’t have a spare 5 gallon bucket handy, you can purchase them new at Home Depot or Lowe’s for a few dollars.

Remove the handle from the bucket and then glue the rope in a circular motion around the bucket to get started. Take your time to ensure that the rope is uniform so that the bucket color does not show through.

The next step is to create a lid using cardboard. Put the 5 gallon bucket on the cardboard with the fabric underneath and trace the outside of the bucket. Cut the circle from the cardboard using an X-Acto knife and then use the knife to puncture a hole in the middle of the cardboard for the drawer knob. Screw the knob tight through both the fabric and the cardboard

The microfiber towel gets glued under the fabric. Wrap and fold the microfiber to ensure that it is kept neat so that the seat is not too lumpy. Lay the fiber over the microfiber towel, and staple it to the opposite side with a staple gun. Trace a second piece of fabric and glue it to the underside of the cardboard.
