How to Make Tie-Dyed Easter Eggs like a Boss

Although it may feel like winter is never going to end, spring is actually right around the corner. We have many things to look forward to during that time of year, such as warmer days, later light in the evenings and, of course, Easter.

If you celebrate Easter with your family, you no-doubt have colored your fair share of Easter eggs. Most familied make their eggs solid colors but once you see this unique project to make tie-dye eggs, you may never go back to regular eggs again.

One of the most unique parts of this project is seen in the ingredients. Along with some other supplies, you will need some Cool Whip! Here is how you do it.

First, gather all of your supplies. You will need the following:

1. Large container of whipped cream or Cool Whip
2. Liquid food coloring
3. Hard-boiled eggs (as many as you desire to dye)
4. Vinegar
5. Bowls or plastic containers

Hard boil the eggs and allow them to cool. Make sure you don’t throw away the egg cartons, you will need them.

Coat the eggs with vinegar before you dye them

Allow the eggs to soak in vinegar for 2 minutes. Doing so allows the color to stick to the eggs properly. It also helps to make the colors brighter.

Spread 2 – 3 inches of Cool Whip in a bowl

Add 20 drops of various colors of food dye on top of the Cool Whip.

Use a toothpick to swirl the colors together

Mix blue and green food coloring together in another bowl. You can choose other colors if you like. It’s time to get creative.

Roll the eggs through the dye one at a time. Be sure to coat all sides

You can use a spoon if you want to avoid the mess.

Remove the egg and allow it to dry. Continue to do the same procedure for each egg till they are all finished.

Place the eggs in the fridge for an hour. Make sure the cool whip is still on the eggs.

Rinse the eggs under warm water after you take them out of the fridge. Look at the beautiful colors.

Pat the eggs dry.

Put the eggs in a basket and enjoy the beautiful colors.
